This Wednesday, February 6, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at The Ship Pub in
St. John’s, Newfoundland, the headliners are Rube and Rake.
There is an open mic set between the two headline sets and open mic
performers get a free Quidi Vidi beer. Also there are door prizes, which are
usually $10 gift certificates donated by sponsors. Also the kitchen is open
until 8 p.m. (but they may take the last order at 7:45 p.m.). Cover is only
$5.

Here is the blurb from the Facebook event page, which is
https://www.facebook.com/events/242842199969129/

"Rube & Rake (https://www.facebook.com/rubeandrake/) is a folk/roots duo
based out of St. John’s, NL, with a primary focus on creating sparse,
stripped down songs. While many performers often look to expand their
arrangements, the duo has found the opposite works best for them, allowing
their harmonies and delivery of lyrics to come to the forefront. Winners of
two MusicNL awards including folk/roots artist of the year for their debut
LP, Rube& Rake are currently touring the release while working on a
sophomore effort which is set to release in early 2020.“

Coming up on Feb. 13 the headliners will be The Dandelion Few.

They put on a great show.

For anyone attending the upcoming Folk Alliance, they will be there.

Their next St. John’s show will be Friday March 22 at The Ship.

They plan to release their second album around this time next year.
