I wached the Junos Award last night and have a couple of comments.
First and formost, we must really get someone different to do the sound
because, it sounded very bad, and don't think all this artists really
sound that bad.

I also want to give two big thumbs up for Pamela Anderson , who
apparently was suppose to be the host, for making the statement; "my
favorite artist couldn't come tonight. Seal was afraid he would get
clubbed". Pamela a long-time spokesperson for PETA was responding to
the brutal tradition in the east coast where hunters and viciously
killing small seals by taking clubs, some with a large spike on the end
and hitting seals in the head.

These hunters then take the seals and start skinning them before
verifying their even dead yet. The east coast hunters and government
claim that this is their only avenue for income during this part of the
year, when in fact, seal hunting only makes up 1 to 2 percent of the
east coast industry revenue.

Ms. Anderson has shown that she has more "balls" than most men, making
this statement right in the east coast (Halifax) territory where this
tradition and taking place, and doing so on National Television.

As for that other celebrity who came out and boasted about wearing pure
seal skin outfit, just shown to us how little class she has and has
given me a repulsive picture of who I thought she was before the show.

Way to rock the boat Pamela !!! Keep it up!!

While the seal hunt is outdated, archaic and yes cruel, Ms Anderson had a
lot of her facts wrong, small white coat seals are no longer killed, 90% of
them are shot not clubed, and the economic value to the people involved in
the hunt, mostly fishermen, is substantial, while hardly significant to the
sums of money that celebrities rake in.

She seems sincere in her concern for animals, which is admirable, but there
should be some concern for people's livelihood, and also she should have
shown more respect for the music and musicians gathered there for the event.
If I had a gripe it would be with the organizers who booked her in spite
(or perhaps because) of her long established support of PETA.
